Cotton candy consists of just two simple ingredients: air and sugar. The original product, called “Fairy Floss,” was invented by a dentist in 1897. In the 1920s, Fairy Floss got its more commonly known name when Josef Lascaux started dabbling in his own candy. He called the treat “Cotton Candy,” and he sold it from his - believe it or not - Louisiana dentist’s office. -History Facts, September 23, 2024
