In 1990, Marilyn vos Savant, who has the highest recorded IQ in the Guinness Book of Records, wrote in Parade magazine that when Monte Hall gave you the chance to switch doors, you should because the odds would then be in your favor. She received an estimated 10,000 furious letters (including 1,000 or so signed by people with a Ph.D. in their title) explaining why she was wrong and that the odds were still 50/50.
